Blog Tour - Review: Bro Code, Kendall Ryan

From New York Times bestselling author Kendall Ryan comes a flirty new standalone about falling for your older brother's best friend.

There’s pretty much only one rule when you’re a guy.

Don’t be a douche.

Turns out, the fastest way to break that rule is to fall for your best friend’s sister.

Ava’s brilliant, sharp-tongued, gorgeous, and five years younger than me.

She’s the sexual equivalent of running with scissors. In a word, she’s dangerous. And completely off-limits.

Falling for her could ruin everything.

Yet I can’t seem to stop, even when her company is threatened by a lawsuit, and my promotion hinges on representing the opposing client—and winning.

I can’t see a way out of this mess that doesn’t end in a broken friendship, a broken heart, or a ruined career.

I may have broken the bro code when I fell for Ava. But do I have the balls to handle what comes next?

Barrett is a 30 year old lawyer who lives in Chicago and is trying to make partner at the company he works at. He works long hours, barely has any time for play time and even if he had more time, he isn't feeling his old player lifestyle anymore. The only thing stopping him from seeking a relationship and starting a family is his wish to make partner and have his life set. He wants to prove o his family, a family who always made him feel like an outsider, that he can achieve his goals.

He always felt more at home and more like he belonged to his best friend's family. Nick's parents treated him more like a son than his own mother ever did. Only problem in this scenario is that he is insanely attracted to Ava, his best friend's sister. The bro code always said he couldn't go there with her and he's abide to that rule since she was 17. But now that she's 25 and he can see that he's not the only one who feels the combustible attraction, it's way harder to resist temptation and keep his hands to himself.

His sister. Every time Ava comes up, I have to keep a straight face. She's one of the only things about this town I ever missed, but Nick doesn't know. He'd deck me if he ever knew I looked her way, hell, that I even thought about her, and I wouldn't blame him. Bro code is pretty clear about these things. Those unwritten rules are genetically coded into every male before birth. You don't hit on your best friend's sister. You definitely don't let your mind wander to what she looks like naked, and you sure as fuck don't let your dick go stiff at that thought.

Ava has had a crush on Barrett since forever but he's her brother's best friend, she always though there'd be no way they could ever be anything. That's what she reminded herself every night when he was the star of her fantasies. He was always that, a fantasy, a dream. Until now... he's so close, so freaking hot and tempting. She can't resist jumping his bones, not after having a peek at his goods and boy the're huge *wink wink*

“Want some?” he offers. I snap out of it to see that, unfortunately, he’s gesturing at the coffeepot and nothing else. There’s plenty I want from Barrett, but coffee has very little to do with it.

They share such an undeniable attraction that being alone in closed quarters makes it impossible for them to resist each other, even knowing what's at stake. Their sex is explosive and orgasmic heaven but what they have is more than that. They are good together, they can talk about anything and open up about their worries and secrets with each other. They both want more than just sharing a couple of days and nights together. However, two things are stopping them:
1- Nick, they both think he'd be pissed knowing they were together and that he would not forgive Barrett.
2- They live 3 hours away from each other and neither of them can leave their job because their dreams and values are at stake, so there's absolutely no way they could be more than a fling, no matter how much they both wish it.

“Stop looking at me like that,” I hiss. “Like what?” “Like you’re gonna strip me naked and take me right here.” The flicker in Barrett’s eyes grows to a full-blown flame. Tonight is going to be nothing but bad news.

Except they both realize that what they shared is much more than an actual fling, they wouldn't miss each other so much if it weren't more. However, even when one of them is willing to try and even tell Nick about their feelings, another problem arises, a problem that can ruin everything, their relationship and both their jobs. Will they choose work over love? Or end up losing everything in the end, love and the job?

I've never felt anything better in all my life, and in an instant, I know she's immediately ruined me for other women. Because everything about her is different from her mind, to her humor, to the way she touches me.

Pick Bro Code up and find out what happens to Ava and Barrett in this super sweet and steamy best friend's brother to lover romance by the great Kendall Ryan. This one is another masterpiece that will not disappoint.
