From USA Today bestselling author Willow Winters, comes a provocative, standalone, contemporary romance.

Some men are born with a black heart and a tainted soul.

I never liked to admit it back then; I thought I could outrun who I am and lie
to myself.
But I accept the truth now.

It’s in my blood and in my bones. In every impure thought and desire.
I tried to leave. To do the right thing and walk away from my past.
But then she came back into my life.

Stumbling towards me and looking up at me as if I’m the one she’s been looking
for all this time.
As if I could be her savior and take her pain away.
If only she knew.

She turns me into what I hate most about myself.
Selfish, ruthless, possessive.
I tried to be a good man. To be cold and distant and warn her away.

She should have taken the hint and run.
She didn’t…
And now she’s mine.

I've been looking forward to reading Daniel's story since She Asked For It and boy I knew it would be dark but I never thought it would be THAT dark. He was hiding way more secrets than I had thought, so yeah it was kind of like meeting a new Daniel.

Let's be real though, even though his life and his past was dark, he had a lot of good in him and I love that. He was just a boy who had been dealt a shitty life and who had been hurt one too many times and so he had been lost, until she came back into his life.

Addison Fawn. She’s always been able to do that. She gets to me in a way I despise. She makes me remember. She makes me weak. Another step and I see her face. Her high cheekbones and piercing green eyes. I love the way her hair falls in front of her face. There’s always something effortless about it, like she doesn’t put an ounce of work into looking as fuckable as she does.

I loved getting parts of their past, it was so much easier to understand their dynamic and what had happened with both of them and also the circumstances that got them to where they were in the present. Both Daniel and Addison were broken, both for the tragic accident in their pasts and the guilt that they carried around because of it but also the guilt of their feelings for each other and the heaviness of not having each other around.

I’ll be damn sure to make the time for Addison. Finally having her is worth all the fucking time in the world.

Daniel had been in love with his kid brother's girlfriend and she had been in love with him. However, Addison's situation was much more complicated then that, she had no family and the only good thing about her foster one was that they were Cross's neighbors. She met Tyler at school and he pursued her, first just as a friend then as something more, but what he gave her that she couldn't let go was a place to belong to, a family of sorts. When she  first went to his house, she saw Daniel for the first time and she was hooked, and every time after that when they were in the same room, every time their gazes crossed there was a invisible thread linking them together but she was with Tyler and Daniel was a couple of years older.

It creeps up on me whenever I hear Daniel’s rough voice; whenever I catch him watching Tyler and me. It’s like I’ve been caught cheating, which makes no sense at all. I don’t belong to Daniel, no matter how much that idea haunts my dreams. He’s twenty-one now and I’m only seventeen. But more importantly, he’s Tyler’s brother.

There came a time when she knew she had to leave, so she broke up with Tyler and left but much more happened that day, something that would break her and the Cross family. And she and Daniel never got over it even years later.

No one has ever held my attention like Addison. No one makes me forget like she does. Nothing else matters when she’s near me. Only the need to make sure she knows that I see her, that I feel her, that I want her.

So when they met again a couple of years later, Addison had been doing better but seeing Daniel and having him ignore her brought everything back, and suddenly she was back in that black hole of hurt and guilt. And Daniel was the only one who could help her out. And she was the only one who could help him get back to a good place with himself and his family. However, no one of it was easy. The hurt, the guilt blinded them sometimes and what they felt for each other wasn't enough. There was a lot they had to work through, together.

I don’t know how else to say it. I want her. I want her to be mine. It’s all I’ve ever wanted. Not just in my bed. I want her touches, her kisses, her intentions. Moving forward, I want each piece of her. Every little piece. I want them all. More than that, I want her to give them to me.

I recommend you pick up this book if you're curious about Daniel and Addison's story or if you read She Asked For It and were dying to know more about Daniel, definitely pick it up then because it's worth it. His story is much more than anything you could have thought it was. I'm so happy to have read it and got to know Daniel and his past struggles, secrets and guilt.

“I always knew you were bad for me,” I whisper against his lips as he bends down to kiss me. To actually press his hot lips against mine this time. His tongue demands entrance, licking against the seam of my lips and I grant him his wish. The heated kiss is short-lived and I’m left breathless. I can feel his smile as he pulls away, taking the key from his pocket and licking his lower lip. I love how he does it like that. Slow and sensual and like he’s hiding a secret that thrills him to no end. “Bad for you doesn’t even begin to cover it, Addison.”

And now I can't help but be super curious and excited for the next book in this world, even though I'm not into Mobster romances and all that jazz anymore, I am definitely picking it up and reading all about Carter.

Willow Winters is so happy to be a USA Today, Wall Street Journal and #1 Contemporary Bestselling Romance Author. She likes her action hot and her bad boys hotter. She certainly doesn’t hold back on either one in her writing!

Willow started writing after having her little girl, Evie, December 2015. All during her pregnancy with Evie she continued to read and she only wanted to read romance. She was reading a book a day — sometimes two.

In January 2016 Willow was staying up late with Evie and just thinking of all these stories. They came to her constantly so she finally sat down and just started writing. She always wanted to do it so she figured, why not? Today Willow cannot be happier for making that decision!
