About THE BEAU & THE BELLE

Beau Fortier starred in most of my cringe-worthy teenage fantasies.
I met him when I was a junior in high school, a time that revolved exclusively around bad hair, failed forays into flirting, and scientific inquiries into which brand of toilet paper worked best for stuffing bras.
That is, until Beau moved into the small guest house just beyond my bedroom window.
A 24-year-old law student at Tulane, Beau was as mysterious to me as second base (both in baseball and in the bedroom). He was older. Intimidating. Hot. Boys my age had chicken legs and chubby cheeks. Beau had calloused hands and a jaw cut from steel. Our interactions were scarce—mostly involving slight stalking on my end—and yet deep down, I desperately hoped he saw me as more of a potential lover than a lovesick loser.
Turns out, I was fooling myself. My fragile ego learned that lesson the hard way.
Now, ten years later, we’re both back in New Orleans, and guess who suddenly can’t take his eyes off little ol’ me.
My old friend, Mr. Fortier.
But things have changed. I’m older now—poised and confident. My ego wears a bulletproof vest. The butterflies that once filled my stomach have all perished.
When I was a teenager, Beau warned me to guard my heart.
Let’s hope he knows how to guard his.

 Review

Rachel will make you heart hurt one second and make you laugh out loud the next in this swoony and funny romance.

Lauren meets Beau when he rents the apartment on her parents house and while she unloads on him all her typical teen problems and embarrassments and he's there for her, she can't help but fall in love with him. But there's a significant age difference between the two and Beau won't let anything happen between them. When a disaster happens, each one of them goes their own way.

Ten years later, Lauren comes back to New Orleans to open up her own business. When Beau sees her, he knows that this is his shot and this time there's nothing that can get between them. No age difference, no distance and certainly no Preston Westcott!

“Though that was hardly a kiss,” she says with a laugh, turning to look out the window. “You’re right.” I take a step toward her and her attention whips back to me as I approach. “You were so mad when I didn’t kiss you back. It was kind of adorable.” She frowns. “I wasn’t trying to be adorable. I was trying to seduce you.” I take another step closer and my finger catches the silky bow of her blouse. “Wh—what are you doing?” she asks, trying to take a step back. My hand wraps around her waist and I keep her there, pressed against me. “Why don’t you try again.”

Pick this one up and read about how Lauren plays hard to get (or tries) and gives Beau a run for his money. But this time, this time is different, he doesn't plan on ever letting her go.

“That’s fine. You can keep doing that.” “Doing what?” “Playing like you don’t want me to sweep everything off my desk and fulfill 10 years’ worth of your backlogged wishes.”

There are so many funny moments between them that will have you smiling and laughing your a** off, and then of course those sweet moments that will melt your heart, there a couple of those too. These two were just the perfect romcom couple!

“So now that we’ve cleared up the fact that you’ve been harboring angsty, shoebox love for me for upwards of a decade, what would you have done if I hadn’t moved back to New Orleans?” He smiles lazily, twisting a curl around his finger. “I’d have eventually come to New York.” “And if I was dating someone else?” His eyes lock with mine and he arches a dark brow. “You were dating someone else. I stole you.”

Both Beau and Lauren are special characters and you'll love their story. It is the perfect read to just sit back with a drink, relax and just enjoy the ride Lauren and Beau take towards each other. And you'll love all the New Orleans descriptions, it will make you want to hop on a plane and go there.
